Meet Our Staff

The Team Supporting Our Classrooms

OIT ClassTech supports the audiovisual technology in more than 390 conference and classrooms on NC State University’s Main and Centennial Campus. We employ a rotating staff of about 15-20 student and temporary workers that provide tiers one and two support for our faculty, students, and staff. We divide our temporary staff by geographic zones to keep response times low and reliable, but each zone has a designated full-time lead. Meet our Support Manager and Zone Leads below!

If you are experiencing an issue in one of our supported spaces, please do not reach out to our team members individually- send an email to [email protected] with any questions or concerns, and if you are in need of immediate assistance from a technician then please contact the OIT Help Desk at 919-515-HELP (4357) and someone will be dispatched to help you as quickly as possible!

Support Manager: Cheyenne Colburn (she/her)

Cheyenne manages our full-time support staff and works closely with the ClassTech Design team on upcoming projects. She is responsible for ordering equipment, coordinating our annual projects with OIT Technology Support Services leadership, and discussing contracts with groups on campus that are interested in working with our team for audiovisual technology installation and support.

Cheyenne has two adorable labradors that occasionally cameo in our meetings and has previously worked as a professional photographer.

Zone 1 Lead: Dustin Maurice (he/him)

I provide support for our ClassTech supported spaces East of Lampe Drive on NC State’s Main Campus. My primary role is supporting the installation and maintenance of audiovisual technology in our supported spaces. During the Spring and Fall semester, most of my time is spent assisting faculty and staff with the technology in our classroom. I am responsible for our recent warehouse reorganization project and tracking inventory for upcoming projects, spare equipment for classrooms, and optimizing our warehouse storage methods as our department grows.

My favorite activities involve being outdoors and traveling with my friends and family. My wife and I are certified scuba divers, and my favorite place in the world (so far) is anywhere in the Caribbean.

Zone 2 Lead: Erin Springer (she/they)

I provide support for our ClassTech supported spaces West of Lampe Drive on NC State’s Main Campus. My primary role outside of classroom support is supervising and leading our team of student workers. I am responsible for student hiring, scheduling, and training within our department. Along with other members of our department, I prioritize improving our technical documentation to make internal training for students and full-time staff easier and more efficient.

When I’m not on campus, I am most likely reading, watching a movie, or playing games on my custom-build PC while my cat rudely lays on the keyboard.

Zone 3 Lead: Damian Boyce (he/him)

I provide support for our ClassTech supported spaces on NC State’s Centennial Campus and Main Campus South of Yarborough Drive. My role includes monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues, documenting support procedures, and collaborating with faculty, staff, vendors, and other university teams. I also contribute to technology standardization, system integration, reporting, and the evaluation of solutions that improve reliability and the classroom user experience.

Outside of work, I enjoy songwriting and electronic music production, and I build custom PCs, servers, and 3D-printed tools to support my creative projects.
