Moodle Clicker Registration & Participant List Guide

You can pull your participant list from Moodle as well as upload Turning Point grades into Moodle since the Moodle 2 and Turning Point 5.3.1 upgrades. You can also have students register their clicker to their Unity ID through Moodle.

Faculty: Activating TurningTechnologies Block in Moodle

  • Log into Moodle Course, click ‘Turn editing on’

Faculty: Downloading Participant List from Moodle

  • Click ‘TurningTechnologies Device ID Search Tool’ link

  • Take note of location file is downloaded to!

Faculty: Importing Participant List into TurningPoint 5

  • Click ‘Manage’ tab in TurningPoint 5
  • Click ‘Participant List’ and select ‘Import’

  • Leave ‘TurningPoint Participant List’ selected
  • Click ‘Choose File…’
  • Browse to your files location and select it

  • Your Participant List is now loaded into TurningPoint 5

Faculty: Importing Grades into Moodle

  • On the left hand side of Turning, click on your Class name
  • Click on ‘Manage’ tab
  • Click ‘Results Manager’ in the bottom right hand corner

  • Make sure you click the column header that is named your session ID
  • Click ‘Export’ and select ‘Session’
  • If ‘Session’ is greyed out, make sure you have selected the correct column
  • Under the ‘Select a Scheme’ drop down menu, select ‘Moodle’ and click ‘Save’

  • Now, in Moodle, navigate to ‘Grades’
  • Click the ‘Import’ tab and upload the file you just saved from Turning
  • Click ‘Upload Grades’ at the bottom of the page

  • Under ‘Identify User By’, make sure the ‘Map From’ is set to email
  • Make sure ‘Map to’ is set to ‘username’
  • Click ‘Upload Grades’ at the bottom of the page

Student: Register Clicker at Moodle Course Website

  • Log into your Moodle Course site
  • Click ‘ResponseCard Registration’ under the TurningTechnologies black

  • Using a physical clicker
  • Click ‘ResponseCard’ or ‘Register ResponseCard’
    • Using smartphone as clicker
  • Click ‘ResponseWare’ or ‘Register ResponseWare’

  • Enter Device ID for your clicker
    • Device ID is on back of your device
  • Click ‘Register’
    • Your device is now registered!
